What songs should we choose for our formal dances?
Planning the perfect playlist for your wedding reception can be overwhelming. That's why we've made it easy for you to submit a Spotify playlist. Simply provide us with a link to your favorite songs or let us know on the requests form.
When will we talk to our wedding DJ?
Our team is always available to assist you with any questions or concerns you may have during your wedding planning process. We will reach out to you the Monday before your wedding to discuss all the important details for your reception. This includes the timeline, important events, pronunciation of names, song preferences, and more. It's best to have this conversation with your DJ close to your wedding day to ensure that the information is up-to-date and fresh in everyone's mind during your reception.
To help us better understand your preferences and requirements, please fill out the requests planning form before your scheduled call with your DJ. If you haven't completed the planning document yet, you can find it
here. We want to ensure that your wedding reception is tailored to your exact vision, and your input is valuable in making that happen.
When will my DJ arrive at my venue?
Rest assured, your DJ will arrive 1.5 to 2 hours before your guests for both the reception and ceremony music, if applicable. If you have any specific timing requests or requirements, please don't hesitate to contact us, and we will do our best to accommodate them. We want to ensure that everything runs smoothly according to your plans, and we are here to take care of any special requests you may have. Your satisfaction is our top priority, and we are committed to making your wedding day a memorable and stress-free experience.
How does payment and tipping work?
Please be aware that balances for our services are due 30 days prior to your event. We will send you a digital invoice for your convenience. We accept Visa, Mastercard, and Discover Card, but please note that digital transactions will incur a 3% card fee. If you prefer to avoid this fee, we also accept checks as payment.
As for gratuity, it is always appreciated for a job well done. Many of our customers choose to give tips, with an average range of $100 to $200 per service. If you have any questions or concerns regarding payments or tipping, please feel free to reach out to us. We are here to ensure that your experience with Rock Out Northwest is seamless and enjoyable.
Will the DJ work as an MC and coordinate the events of my night as well as play the music?
Your wedding DJ will not only curate and play the music to your preferences throughout the night, but also serve as the Master of Ceremonies (MC) to ensure a seamless flow of events. Your DJ will be well-prepared to professionally announce and coordinate all the important moments during your reception. From timelines to formal dances, your DJ will work closely with you to ensure that every detail is covered, allowing you to have a worry-free evening.
In addition, your DJ will arrive early at the venue to meet with venue staff and other vendors, such as the photographer, videographer, and officiant, to ensure everyone is on the same page. Your DJ will also work with anyone giving toasts, guiding them on when and where to speak, how to use the microphone correctly, and what to do after they are finished. We understand that speakers may be nervous, and our team is here to provide assistance and support.
Our goal is to ensure that your wedding reception runs smoothly and that you can enjoy every moment without any worries. Your DJ will be there to coordinate and guide the evening's events, so you can relax and make memories that will last a lifetime.
Are your wedding DJ’s insured?
Absolutely! We understand the importance of having insurance coverage for your wedding DJ services. We wouldn't dream of showing up to your wedding without proper insurance in place. In fact, we recommend that you verify insurance coverage for all of your vendors, including your DJ.
Many reception venues now require proof of insurance from vendors, including DJs, as part of their policy. At Rock Out Northwest, we have taken this requirement seriously and have a comprehensive insurance plan in place to protect you, your guests, our DJs, and their equipment in case of any unforeseen incidents.
With our insurance coverage, you can have peace of mind knowing that we have taken steps to ensure the safety and protection of all parties involved. We prioritize the professionalism and reliability of our services, and our insurance coverage is just one of the ways we demonstrate our commitment to delivering a top-notch experience for your wedding celebration.
What is the Anniversary Dance and do you suggest I do it at my wedding?
Including all married couples in an Anniversary dance is a great way to create a memorable moment at your wedding while also celebrating the longevity of marriage. It's an ideal opportunity for some beautiful photos and a touching memory for the newlyweds. Watching the couple that has been married the longest dance alongside the newlyweds is a special moment that often moves the crowd to tears.
For the Anniversary dance, your DJ will invite all married couples to the dance floor for a slow dance with the newlyweds. Once the dance floor is filled, the DJ will politely ask couples (with the exception of the bride and groom) who’ve been married less than 1 year, then 5 years, then 10 years, etc. to leave the dance floor. A slow, universally loved song is usually the best choice for the dance, and the newlyweds will be left dancing with the couple that has been married the longest. Some couples may ask the DJ to request advice on a long, happy marriage from the longest-married couple as a special touch.
When do I need music during my wedding ceremony and can you suggest songs to play?
Your ceremony music sets the tone for your special moments and should reflect your unique style and preferences. While classical or instrumental music has been traditionally used for ceremonies, modern weddings allow for more flexibility and creativity in music choices.
At Rock Out Northwest, we understand that each couple is unique, and we will work with you to curate a ceremony music playlist that matches your vision and style. Whether you prefer classical, contemporary, or a mix of both, we are here to accommodate your preferences and make your ceremony truly personalized.
From the seating of your guests, to the entrance of the bridal party, the bridal processional, candle lighting or sand ceremony (if applicable), the recessional, and the departure of guests, we will ensure that the music selections for each moment are carefully chosen to create the perfect ambiance for your ceremony. Let us help you create an unforgettable musical experience for your special day!
Can our Rock Out Northwest provide ceremony music?
We understand that many couples choose to have their ceremony at the same location as their reception, and we are more than happy to provide ceremony music as well. Our experienced DJs can arrive early, set up a second set of equipment, and provide a wireless handheld microphone for the officiant.
We will work closely with you in advance to plan and prepare for your ceremony music. Our team can offer suggestions, if needed, and help you create a seamless and memorable ceremony experience. On the day of your wedding, we will communicate and coordinate with the wedding officiant to ensure that the ceremony flows exactly as you expect.
With our expertise in providing ceremony music and sound, you can trust us to create the perfect atmosphere for your wedding ceremony. Let us take care of the details so you can focus on enjoying your special day without any worries.
How long should our first dance be?
The first dance is a special moment during your wedding reception, and it's important to choose a song that you both love and reflects your style as a couple. Most first dance songs are in the 3-4 minute range, but if you choose a longer song, our DJs can fade it out at an appropriate time to keep the moment enjoyable for you and your guests.
We understand that some couples may already have a special song in mind, while others may need help in selecting the perfect first dance song. Our team at Rock Out Northwest is here to assist you in choosing a song that resonates with you as a couple and matches the tone and style of your wedding. We can provide suggestions based on your preferences and help you find a song with an easy beat if you're not experienced dancers.
Our goal is to make your first dance a memorable moment that reflects your love story and sets the tone for the rest of your reception. Let us help you create a meaningful and unforgettable first dance experience that you will cherish for years to come.
What does the wedding DJ wear?
At Rock Out Northwest, we understand that your wedding is a special occasion, and we want to ensure that our DJs are dressed appropriately to match the theme and style of your event. Our standard attire for weddings is a nice tuxedo or modern suit, which is professional and polished.
However, we also recognize that some weddings may have unique themes or dress codes that may require different attire for our DJs. If a tuxedo or suit does not fit the overall theme of your event, please let us or your DJ know in advance, and we will be happy to adjust our attire accordingly.
We strive to provide a personalized experience that meets your specific needs and preferences, including the attire of our DJs. Our goal is to ensure that every detail of your wedding, including the appearance of our DJs, aligns with your vision and creates a cohesive and memorable event. What happens if the DJ gets sick/accident or has a technical issue?
At Rock Out Northwest, we understand the importance of reliability and preparedness for your wedding day. We have a comprehensive plan in place to ensure that your DJ is always ready and able to provide exceptional service, even in unforeseen circumstances.
In the rare event that your assigned DJ is unable to attend your wedding due to an accident or medical emergency, we have backup DJs on call and ready to step in with equipment already loaded in their car. You can have peace of mind knowing that we have contingency plans in place to ensure a seamless experience for your wedding day.
In addition, we take technical difficulties seriously and have multiple layers of preparedness. Our DJs are certified through our rigorous 45-point certification process, which includes training in sound engineering and technical troubleshooting. What is the overtime fee for my wedding DJ?
If you find during your reception that you need more time than what is included in your package, you can easily add on additional time for $200 per hour. Our DJ will have an overtime form available that can be filled out by both you and your partner, indicating the additional time needed. You can take care of the payment right away, ensuring that your DJ can continue providing their services seamlessly.
If you anticipate needing additional time with your DJ prior to your wedding day, we encourage you to contact us as soon as possible. We can discuss your needs in advance and make necessary arrangements to ensure that your wedding reception timeline is met, and you have a stress-free experience on your special day.
We are committed to providing excellent service and flexibility to meet your specific needs, including any additional time requirements, to make your wedding day truly memorable. Please don't hesitate to reach out to us with any questions or concerns about adding on time with your DJ.
Will the DJ listen to our requests and our guests requests?
As an entertainment provider, we've found that requests without limits can potentially cause a chaotic environment for your guests. We're happy to accept requests from your guests if you choose that option, but as the DJ we reserve the right to play general requests. As a standard, we will do our best to honor request from the bridal party and family members.
Should we invite our DJ to dinner?
Thank you for thinking about your DJ, and it is customary to invite your DJ to dinner. We are happy to eat at our DJ table while another option is to seat him at a vendor table and another option is among the other guests.
